The New and Improved Water & Wine Site!

It is finally done and finally here, welcome to the new and improved Water & Wine!

Thanks to Blogerize, I now have the website I have been wanting but didn’t know how to do it! Back in October, Emily from Blogerize reached out to me asking if I would like to collab for a blog makeover and I was so excited! At first, I was a little apprehensive because I know how expensive a blog makeover could be, and they were offering it for free! I quickly did some research and read some reviews and realized how awesome this opportunity was, and I jumped on it! Then began the design process.

Emily and I emailed back and forth for a few days discussing what I was looking for in a blog, what colors and overall flow I wanted for my readers, and some other questions relating to my design. We also discussed my webhost. At the time, I was using wordpress.com with a premium account. In order to set up the blog I wanted I either needed a business plan or I needed to host my site elsewhere. After checking the price of a business account, I decided to go with Siteground, as my hosting site. I still have the premium account and just host my site on Siteground which is WAY cheaper. I pay a few dollars a month on Siteground and still am able to do things through WordPress.

Once this was set up, Emily moved my site to be hosted on Siteground, and we were able to add things like widgets! Then we started the actual design. Her team set up a design and sent it over. I knew the overall flow I wanted, so Emily really worked with me to make it EXACTLY what I wanted. It may have taken a bit long, but Emily was so patient with my crazy schedule and really worked with me to get it done.

Prior to working with Emily and Blogerize, I had set up a random template from Blogerize and really just did whatever to get it started never really knowing how to make it into what I wanted. I always loved having my topics with pictures from previous posts at the top and having categories that were easy to maneuver through and understand! I also wanted the sides to have recent posts, my instagram recent posts, and to include clickable buttons to be able to follow me on all social media accounts, if my followers wanted to.

My experience with blogerize has been absolutely amazing, and I would highly recommend them. I think it is so important to work with someone that is responsive, eager to help and teach you, and someone who will still respond/help once the design is done. To this day, I still ask Emily questions and she answers them and helps me without a problem!

Thank you Blogerize for this awesome experience!!!

Life Update

Outfit Details:

Hi Everyone,

I am so sorry I have been a little MIA on my blog and my instagram page. Life has been crazy hectic. As you all know, I am an accountant and with my busy season and some lingering jobs, things have yet to slow down and I have just been so exhausted and worn out.

Things should be slowing down after this week so I can get back to my blogging. I have missed it so much, but realized with how crazy work has been I needed to put this on hold so that I could spend time with my husband and get things done that needed to be done and were neglected because of my work schedule.

Anyway, I wanted to give you all a life update in general. My husband and I FINALLY moved into our new house!! Well half moved in because we still do not know where anything is and are still trying to get our clothes moved in and all that, but we have been staying there. I am so excited. Our house came out so beautifully and I cannot wait to make so many memories in there with my husband! We also just got a dog, her name is Riley and she is the cutest little thing ever. Whoever said having a puppy was easy, they were wrong. She is a baby and requires a lot of attention which we love to give her, but she cries all night so I end up missing out on a lot of sleep. It is all worth it though, we love her so much! Here are some pictures of her:

We were able to also take a break and we went to Miami Beach with our siblings for a quick little get-away. It was just the perfect little break that we needed after how busy work has been for us both, and how crazy the house has been since we closed in March. We had so much fun! I will share where we went and things we did in another post so that you guys have some ideas if you were to ever travel there!

We are still moving into our house and still have so much to do, but I am enjoying doing it with my family and my husband and just enjoying the moments. This is our first home and we will only have a first home once, so I am in no rush and I am soaking it all in ๐Ÿ™‚

In regards to fitness, I am doing Orange Theory and am LOVING it. It is so much fun and such a great workout. I did some detail up on my story about it but will do a post about it on here this week or next.

Have a fantastic day everyone and I can’t wait to continue blogging !

About Me

Hi Guys! Thanks for visiting Water & Wine! I’m Nina, I was born and raised in New Jersey, and am 100% Greek! Here are some commonly asked questions and my answers so you can all get to know me a little better!

My husband John & I live in Northern, New Jersey. We were both born and raised in NJ. John is from Central Jersey originally and I am from North Jersey! When we graduated college, I lived on my own near our school for a little before John and I decided to move in together. Since then, he has stayed up north!

I started blogging in February 2018 as a way for me to share my favorite items and sales, so that other people can find the same too!ย Friends are always asking me how I do my hair, makeup, where I find some of the clothes I wear, what fitness thing I am trying now, so I thought it would be fun to start posting about it to maybe help others out along my journey!

I have my Bachelors Degree in Accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, NJ. I previously worked as an auditor for a public accounting firm for four years. From the months of January-May/June I worked up to 75 hours a week auditing companies financial statements. I am currently working as an accountant for an insurance company. The hours are definitely better!

My husband, John,ย  has in Bachelors in Business Management and his Masters in Business.ย  In January of 2017, John started his own business “Blue Nail LLC.” Blue Nail does everything from Roofs, siding, and windows to bathrooms, flooring, kitchen remodels. If you are in New Jersey and are in need of any of the mentioned, check out his website! His company does a phenomenal job and I am not just saying that because I am his wife ๐Ÿ™‚ Website: Blue Nail LLC

John and I met at Fairleigh Dickinson University. I was a sophomore and John was a Junior, I had just joined a sorority, ZTA, and our “brother” fraternity was his fraternity, PSK. Him and a few brothers were in the cafeteria when I was on a sister date. John called me new girl because he never saw me on campus before. Fast forward to the first weekend of my Junior Year (Fall 2012) and the first weekend of his Senior Year, and I walked into what I did not know was his room and saw him. We connected through facebook and the rest is history. We fell in love and new we couldn’t live without each other. I had found my soulmate and the one whom I had been searching for my whole life. We got married on September 3, 2017 and had the most beautiful wedding.

I had been trying to think of a blog name since early 2017, and refused to start one until I had the perfect name. My husband randomly said to me on February 8, 2018 “what about Water & Wine” Water can be the health, fitness, wellness aspect of your blog while Wine is the finer things such as beauty, fashion, travel, etc. I loved the name so much. I felt like it perfectly encompassed me and everything I wanted for this blog and it just so happened that a few nights later we celebrated Valentine’s Day early and did a wine and paint night, the painting was “all you need is love & wine” I changed it to “water and wine” and thought it would be perfect to remember the start of this journey!
