Hi Babes!

I have been ordering clothes off Amazon for like what seems like ever now, so I am really happy it has become more popular. I not only get clothing off their site, but I also get shoes & accessories when it comes to fashion and beauty! I will split up the post with things I actually have and then items that I am crushing on and are currently in my cart. Hope you enjoy this post & let me know in the comments if you would like to see more like this 🙂

Balayage & Hair Extensions

Hi Babes!

My hair is finally done and I am so excited!! I have not done anything to my hair in almost 6 years and knew I needed to do something different, so balayage was my first step. In this post I am going to talk a little about the process of both dying my hair and getting the extensions so I apologize in advance for the long post!

Before I get into it, I just have to tell you guys about this amazing salon I went to. Hairology was amazing and truly exceeded my expectations. The set up and decor is so pretty and I love that about them. I truly believe that wherever you go, the look of the place directly reflects their service. If it is nicely kept and pretty, you know you will get good service, which is exactly what I got here. Everyone is so nice and they are all willing to help each other. I highly recommend them!

Balayage

Like I mentioned above, I have not done anything with my hair in 6 years and have dark brown hair. I knew the process wouldn’t be easy and would probably not turn out the way I wanted it to, but I was so wrong. Amy from Hairology looked at the pictures I showed her and listened to what I was looking for and provided that and much more! I showed her the three pictures below and a few more and told her I wanted my hair to look like that, I wanted blonde but not full blonde.

IMG_9931.JPG IMG_9930.JPGIMG_9932.JPG

My inspiration pictures really helped to show Amy exactly what I was looking for. Since my hair was so dark, the entire process took about 2.5 hours. I sat under the heat for about 35 minutes and sat without heat for about 25.

Once the color we were looking for started to lift, Amy and her fellow employees washed out my hair and put in a toner to get the blonde I wanted. I do have to mention, if you plan on getting extensions all while dying your hair, make sure they try to match a color. Amy is familiar with the extension colors and knew the color I was looking for so matching for me wouldn’t be a problem. When Amy first washed my hair and took it out of the towel, I thought it wasn’t light enough, but you truly cannot tell until your hair is dry. When she dried it, I was in love!

The color came out perfect and I honestly could not wait! The next step was ordering the extensions. I knew I wanted them for length, so I got the 18-20 inch extension in the color 5/23 which is an ombre color. It usually takes about 2 days to come in if they are in stock, so I made my appointment and left.

Extensions

Waiting the three days to come get my extensions done, felt like a lifetime. I was so excited that I just wanted it to happen asap. The day finally came, and I could hardly wait. They instructed me to wash my hair that morning and to straighten it. When the hair is straight, it is easier to get the Tape in Extensions put in. I will tell you later in the post why I chose the Tape Ins over all the other ones they have, but wanted to let you know a little bit about the process first.

When I got there, they started the process right away. Amy sectioned off my hair and started putting them in. I couldn’t believe how easy it was. It was like taping items together except obviously the tape is a stronger adhesive. I was done within 20 minutes and then we curled my hair. The process was so quick and easy and Amy made sure to answer all my questions and give me some details.

I was not allowed to wash my hair for 24-48 hours. When I brush my hair, I can brush by the tape but I have to make sure not to push and brush through the tape. The upkeep for them is every 10-12 weeks where I would go back and have them lifted. The hair lasts for 3 uses so basically for a total of 9 months. I love them and can’t wait to style my hair now!

Other Extensions & My Thoughts on Tape Ins

I have had various different types of extensions including clip ins, Braidless beaded sew ins, and fusion extensions. After a few hours I was sick of them for various reasons. With the braidless beaded sew in extensions, I constantly had headaches because it was so heavy on my head. It was also impossible to comb these extensions and I hated having them. The fusion extensions weren’t as bad, but they only lasted 4-6 weeks and pulled on certain areas of my head which made it hurt. Lastly, the clip ins are always a good option, but I wanted something a little more permanent because after a few hours the clips would hurt my head.

Honestly, seeing what works best for you is the best piece of advice I can give. Most people like the fusion, but now that I have had the tape extensions I will not go back. It literally feels like nothing is in my hair and it feels so natural which is what I was looking for. I highly recommend them!
Hope this post was helpful! Let me know if you have any burning questions!

Have you had extensions before? If so, what kind?

Ipsy Bag – October 2018

Ipsy Items

Tarte Shape Tape // Mamma Kadar Lip in “Amour” // Manefit Cucumber Soothing + Moisturizing Sheet Mask // Manefit Lavender Wrinkle Care + Lifting Sheet Mask // IBY Beauty Eye Shadow Palette // Eye Shadow Brush

Other Items

Similar Pajama Set // Sleep Shirt // Bluetooth Mirror // Tray is from Marshall’s another cute one here

My October Ipsy bag is finally in! I seriously look forward to receiving this little bag monthly. Each month, you receive 5 items based on a questions you answer on Ipsy such as what kind of items you like “what is your skin tone,” or “what shade of eyeshadow so you prefer?” They ask a bunch of questions to see what you like and use that when sending you products!

I really had a vision of how I wanted to share this bag with you all. I wanted to take some cute pictures on my bed with Riley, in my Ralph Lauren sleep shirt with some knee high socks, which is what I wear to bed as the weather starts to cool down. But, Riley hasn’t been feeling well since her spaying and wanted nothing to do with me, I couldn’t find my night gown, the lighting was horrible because it has been storming here, and my vision did not pan out like I wanted it to, but hope you like it anyway!

I wrote a little about the process of signing up for Ipsy and the items below!

I really love that they do this because it gives me a chance to tell them what I like and what works best for me, and gives them a chance to find products that will work for your skin tone, your eye color, and with everything you love!

Just a little background about Ipsy- the cost is $10 a month, which isn’t bad at all considering most of these items cost over $10. I don’t really belong to many subscription places, but Ipsy is one I’ll always stay with. I love trying new products monthly and seeing what I like and what I would want to buy once I am done with the item I received. I never tried many Tarte items until I got Ipsy and I have now fallen in love with Tarte and have a lot of products from them.

I have linked the products that I can find from the bag. The only ones I had some issues with were the INMO Cosmetics Eye Shadow Brush and the IBY Eye Shadow “Midnight Sky.” I have linked a similar brush that I have and currently use as an eye shadow brush and have linked an IBY Cosmetics Eye Shadow Palette that has a color that is similar to “Midnight Sky.” But in regards to the ones I could find, I am loving the lip color and the shape tape. I used both this morning as part of my makeup routine and am obsessed!

Have you ever tried Ipsy? What has been the one item you received that you now can’t live without?

May Ipsy Bag

The May Ipsy bag is here! So excited for this one! I LOVE everything in the bag.

  1. lipp.JPG – (click image for the link) Lord & Berry Lip 2010 Maximatte in “P3405 Intimacy”- This is such a pretty color. Pinks and dark pinks look good on me, so I always put that I prefer this lip color along with nudes. It has a really smooth consistency to it, and I love it.
  2. brio.JPG– (click image for the link) I have been looking for a good leave in conditioner and have actually been looking at this on sephora because of the really good reviews it has. I am so excited to try this and will update you all once I do!
  3. eye.JPG  – (click image for the link) The eye shadow brush is part of this makeup brush set and is only sold separately as part of the Ipsy Bag. But, the brush is so incredibly soft and I love the way the eye shadow on it applies to my eyes. I highly recommend.
  4. sur.JPG – (click image for the link) This mask helps to remove dead skin and large pores. I have seen these face masks all over the place and have been wanting to try them. I got two in my bag so my husband and I will try this out.
  5. Capture.JPG – (click image for the link) I received the sample size of this mascara and cannot believe how volumizing it is! I love the mascara and how voluminous it makes my eyelashes look amazing!

Do you receive Ipsy bags or do you want to? Let me know in the comments below!

“Irresistible” Lashes

The other day I posted on my instagram stories ( @waterandwine_ ) about these amazing eyelashes I got from the company Azeredo Cosmetics, and so many of you lovely ladies DM’ed me asking me about them, so I figured I would do a post about them.

I usually wear eyelashes for special occasions and events that I have, but lately I have been wearing them more often. I love the way they make my eyes pop, and lets be real eyelashes are just gorgeous and make your makeup look that much better.

These lashes are definitely high quality and are cruelty free synthetic lashes! I love that they are reasonably priced and of good quality. They are sticky on the front and end of the eyelash but I knew I would need a long wear from them, so put some eye lash glue on them and put them on. They also are re-usable!

If you are interested in purchasing, use code “NinaH10” for a 10% discount!

I also just want to say I am not being paid to post this and this is not a sponsored post, I genuinely love the lashes and wanted to let you beauties know all about them 🙂

XOXO,

Nina

April Ipsy Beauty Bag

img_4781img_4779.jpgimg_4780img_4776.jpgimg_4777.jpgimg_4775

  1. Hempz Lip Balm – I love me some lip balm and I was a little hesitant to use this but tried it this morning and really loved it. It wasn’t too thick and wasn’t too balmy. I have a ton of lip balms but will definitely keep this in my work bag to have with me.
  2. Coconut Micellar Cleansing Water – So I had never heard of this until I received it in this Ipsy bag, but it hydrates your face and can actually also remove makeup. I have not tried to, but will when I have my makeup on. I am intrigued by this item and will continue to use it to see how I like it.
  3. Ofra Costmetics Blush – I received this item in “Candy Apple” and I love it! In the swatches on my arm, it is the second swatch. I really wanted to see the consistency and color against my skin. I love it and highly recommend it. I have received a lot of OFRA items in my Ipsy bags and have really grown attached to them.
  4. Realher Lipstick – WOW is all I can say. This lipstick is so creamy and beautiful. I got it in the color “Mauve” and it is the first swatch color on my arm, pictured above. It honestly is so beautiful and I couldn’t get over the creaminess and its moisturizing effects.

There was SUPPOSED to be a brush in my Ipsy bag, but for whatever reason it did not come. I contacted Ipsy and hope to receive what I should have. This has never happened before so I don’t fault them, it could have been left out by accident but will see what their customer service department says. Also, I was upset because I usually receive my bag by the 7th of each month and did not receive it until the 16th this month.

Did you like what you received in your April bag? Do you have Ipsy or are interested in learning more about it? Leave me a comment below!
