Happy Tuesday everyone!

The weekend is almost over for me because I had a long weekend but go back to work tomorrow. I love long weekends because Monday is always the hardest for me, so knowing the week will be half way over when I go into work will make the week go that much faster.

I love that fall allows you to try different things with your wardrobe like layering vests over outfits, and wearing loafers with ankle jeans. These loafers have become a staple in my closet. I wear them to work often and in my everyday life as well. They are extremely comfortable and go with so much!

These J Crew Loafers have quickly become my favorites and are TTS. This vest is from the Calvin Klein Jean Collections from a few seasons ago, but any vest can work good with this kind of outfit. I love layering it on top of my look for a slightly dressier look, and it keeps me pretty warm. I have linked similar ones above since mine is no longer sold. I am wearing a small in the vest and it is still a bit big so size down. The jeans are TTS and I am wearing a size 27 (4).

What shoes are a must have for you?

Happy Sunday! I hope everyone had a great weekend so far. Yesterday we celebrated Halloween a bit early and did a tornado escape room. It was so much fun and we beat it with 8 minutes left! My group of friends and I are now 3 for 3 and have beat every escape room we have tried. We love them and can’t wait to try some new ones.

I love staying cozy on Sundays, even if I am out and about or with friends & family and love to dress that cozy outfit up a bit. Off-the-shoulder tops are seriously my favorite and mixing in a sweater is even better. I love the way they look with the exposed shoulder. I am also crushing on these leggings that I got from Macys that are BCBGeneration. The faux leather line on them dresses them up a bit to look like more than just a pair of leggings. I easily dress these up or down.

I am wearing a medium in the sweater which is a little big. I got this sweater as a gift and it’s from Francesca’s fall line from 2017. I linked similar ones since they no longer have this one on their site. I am wearing a medium in the leggings, which fit perfectly. The shoes I am wearing a size 9.5 so that I can also wear socks with them.

What are your Sunday plans? Do you usually spend Sunday’s with family or just hanging around?

Happy Friday!

I am so ecstatic that the weekend is finally here because I have a long weekend! I am off Monday & Tuesday and working from home on Wednesday so I will finally have the time to catch up on some emails ūüėė I am also really excited because a friend of mine has sent me some Monat Samples to try so I will be trying those this weekend and updating you on them on my stories. Just a disclaimer though, I do not work for their company nor am I being paid to say how I feel about them. I will always give my complete and honest opinion, & I only have a small sample so I cannot truly tell how it will be long term just how my hair feels that day.

Anyway, I love running errands in some leggings and layers, and lately this outfit has been my go-to! I got this sweater a few seasons ago from Calvin Klein and still love & wear it all the time. When I am out and about I don’t like to always wear heavy coats so this jean jacket and sweater combo keeps me pretty warm!

I am wearing a medium in the jacket which is big but I wanted to be able to layer sweatshirts underneath it. The leggings I am wearing a size S and they fit super comfy. And for the sweater, I am wearing a medium to be able to layer items underneath when it gets really cold!

What’s your go to outfit to wear when you are out running errands?

Happy Tuesday!

I hope those of you in cold weather are bundling up because it’s a cold one today! As the weather continues to transition, I love finding ways to still wear “summer” items during the various seasons. One thing I absolutely love, is layering pieces over summer dresses! Depending on the dress and items used, you can make such a cute outfit.

I couldn’t get over how cute this plaid dress was and knew I had to find a way to wear it in the fall, so I thought this adorable sweater at franscesca’s and decided to layer them with some OTK boots. The dress is from SHEIN, so see my post about sizing here (wearing a size medium here and it’s not super tight) and the sweater is slightly big so I would size down (wearing a small).

I knew this sweater would be so cute layered and I’m so glad it is. Other ways you can wear it would be over a collared shirt for work or ever with jeans and a leather jacket with some booties for a date night. Loving how versatile these pieces are!

What pieces in your closet do you love layering?

Cozy Turtleneck

Turtleneck Sweater 1 // Turtle Neck Sweater 2 // Turtleneck Sweater 3 // Jeans // Booties // Leather Jacket

Every fall, I try to find more and more ways to keep warm because in New Jersey, it seems to entirely skip fall and go to the cool temperatures of low 50’s. Investing in a few good basic pieces is so important in a fall wardrobe. I love turtle neck sweaters and fell in love with this cut off turtleneck Sweater when I first saw it.

I bought this turtle neck sweater at TJ Maxx from Ivanka Trumps line last fall. It is a cut off but is extremely cozy. I got it because it is so versatile and can be worn alone or over a long sleeve shirt/dress. I am wearing a medium here and it is kind of big but I wanted it that way so I could layer it. I have linked some similar items sweaters below! I also love how it can be worn tucked or untucked into jeans, depending on the look you are going for!

These jeans and booties have been on repeat lately because they are so comfortable and really go well with everything. This leather jacket from express has also become a favorite of mine (wearing size M). It pairs well with anything and comes in 14 different colors. Express always has such great clothing and styles and this leather moto jacket did not disappoint.

Balayage & Hair Extensions

Hi Babes!

My hair is finally done and I am so excited!! I have not done anything to my hair in almost 6 years and knew I needed to do something different, so balayage was my first step. In this post I am going to talk a little about the process of both dying my hair and getting the extensions so I apologize in advance for the long post!

Before I get into it, I just have to tell you guys about this amazing salon I went to. Hairology was amazing and truly exceeded my expectations. The set up and decor is so pretty and I love that about them. I truly believe that wherever you go, the look of the place directly reflects their service. If it is nicely kept and pretty, you know you will get good service, which is exactly what I got here. Everyone is so nice and they are all willing to help each other. I highly recommend them!

Balayage

Like I mentioned above, I have not done anything with my hair in 6 years and have dark brown hair. I knew the process wouldn’t be easy and would probably not turn out the way I wanted it to, but I was so wrong. Amy from Hairology¬†looked at the pictures I showed her and listened to what I was looking for and provided that and much more! I showed her the three pictures below and a few more and told her I wanted my hair to look like that, I wanted blonde but not full blonde.

IMG_9931.JPG IMG_9930.JPGIMG_9932.JPG

My inspiration pictures really helped to show Amy exactly what I was looking for. Since my hair was so dark, the entire process took about 2.5 hours. I sat under the heat for about 35 minutes and sat without heat for about 25.

Once the color we were looking for started to lift, Amy and her fellow employees washed out my hair and put in a toner to get the blonde I wanted. I do have to mention, if you plan on getting extensions all while dying your hair, make sure they try to match a color. Amy is familiar with the extension colors and knew the color I was looking for so matching for me wouldn’t be a problem. When Amy first washed my hair and took it out of the towel, I thought it wasn’t light enough, but you truly cannot tell until your hair is dry. When she dried it, I was in love!

The color came out perfect and I honestly could not wait! The next step was ordering the extensions. I knew I wanted them for length, so I got the 18-20 inch extension in the color 5/23 which is an ombre color. It usually takes about 2 days to come in if they are in stock, so I made my appointment and left.

Extensions

Waiting the three days to come get my extensions done, felt like a lifetime. I was so excited that I just wanted it to happen asap. The day finally came, and I could hardly wait. They instructed me to wash my hair that morning and to straighten it. When the hair is straight, it is easier to get the Tape in Extensions put in. I will tell you later in the post why I chose the Tape Ins over all the other ones they have, but wanted to let you know a little bit about the process first.

When I got there, they started the process right away. Amy sectioned off my hair and started putting them in. I couldn’t believe how easy it was. It was like taping items together except obviously the tape is a stronger adhesive. I was done within 20 minutes and then we curled my hair. The process was so quick and easy and Amy made sure to answer all my questions and give me some details.

I was not allowed to wash my hair for 24-48 hours. When I brush my hair, I can brush by the tape but I have to make sure not to push and brush through the tape. The upkeep for them is every 10-12 weeks where I would go back and have them lifted. The hair lasts for 3 uses so basically for a total of 9 months. I love them and can’t wait to style my hair now!

Other Extensions & My Thoughts on Tape Ins

I have had various different types of extensions including clip ins, Braidless beaded sew ins, and fusion extensions. After a few hours I was sick of them for various reasons. With the braidless beaded sew in extensions, I constantly had headaches because it was so heavy on my head. It was also impossible to comb these extensions and I hated having them. The fusion extensions weren’t as bad, but they only lasted 4-6 weeks and pulled on certain areas of my head which made it hurt. Lastly, the clip ins are always a good option, but I wanted something a little more permanent because after a few hours the clips would hurt my head.

Honestly, seeing what works best for you is the best piece of advice I can give. Most people like the fusion, but now that I have had the tape extensions I will not go back. It literally feels like nothing is in my hair and it feels so natural which is what I was looking for. I highly recommend them!
Hope this post was helpful! Let me know if you have any burning questions!

Have you had extensions before? If so, what kind?

Xo,

Nina
