Makeup Monday – Value Sets

It’s just another Makeup Monday!! This weekend went way too fast and I am not ready for the week, yet here we are. I have another busy week ahead. Fall for us is always very busy, not complaining, but it is tiring haha Anyway, I saw that Sephora released their value sets and I LIVEEEEE for these. They are usually always really well priced and the perfect gifts for the holidays. I even stock up on some for myself!

#1Tatcha Dewy Glow Set

This set sells for $65 but values for $105 and includes a dewy skin cream, a dewy skin mist, a radiance mask, and their silk canvas. It is sooo worth it. I purchased the Dewy Skin Cream this past summer for $68 so to get all of this for $65 and be able to try the products is awesome. A little of these products really goes a long way so even a small bottle will last a while. These products are good for normal and dry skin. I have very dry skin and the Cream gives me long lasting hydration.

#2Kiehl’s Bright Delights

The products in this set retails for $87 but is being sold together for $50. Kiehl’s has always been a popular brand and a favorite of mine. I love their body lotions and have been wanting to try their facial products. This set includes 5 total items including Midnight Recovery Concentrate, Avocado Creamy Eye Treatment, Ultra Facial Cream, Avocado Nourishing Hydration Mask, and Toner.

#3Ready to Roll Brush Set

Valued at over $195, you can get all this for only $70. 10 brushes and a brush roll to complete any makeup look. Not only are there facial brushes, but also brushes to get the complete eye look that you want! && with the roll you get a built in travel case.

______________________________________________________________________________

#4Pillow Talk Lip Kit

You can get this set for $35 or you can get just the lipstick for $34. This set is very worth it and is one of my favorite lip combos for all seasons. Pillow talk is one of those colors that just works so well and looks good.

______________________________________________________________________________

#5The Fab 4 Set

You can get these products for $45! I use both nightly repair items as part of my skin care routine and love them both. They are very worth it, and the other products seem like they are too.

______________________________________________________________________________

#6The No-Brainer Set

If you have never tried products from The Ordinary, you need to. They are really reasonably priced. You don’t get as much of a discount by getting this set and only save a few dollars, but you an get it for $29. I have a few of their products that I use daily and love them.

______________________________________________________________________________

#7Naked Honey Drop Vault

All of Urban Decay NAKED products are bomb! I have a few palettes and love them! You get so much in this vault and can get it all for $115. This is the most expensive one, but so so worth it. The coppery honey tones in the palette are too die for!

______________________________________________________________________________

#8The Daily Set

More items from the ordinary but again such good products! They seem to have put together the perfect packages depending on what you are looking for. You can get all of this for $19.

Hope you enjoyed today’s Makeup Monday!

Current Makeup Routine

My current makeup routine, step by step

Whenever I post on my stories with some makeup on, I get a bunch of DM’s asking if I can do a makeup tutorial. Let me start off by saying I am NOT a professional LOL. I probably don’t do certain things correctly, but this works for me 🙂 I uploaded an IGTV video showcasing each step here.

#1 LOTION (ELF) || I put lotion all over my face before I put my primer on or anything else. My face tends to get really dry in every season, so if I do not put lotion on, my nose and cheeks will dry up and peel under my makeup && we don’t want that. It’s extremely weird lol. I have tried various hydrating lotions and have used the ELF one for almost a year now. Not only is it super affordable, but it does the job.

#2 FACE PRIMER PRIMER || I pat/rub this onto under my eyes and by my nose (underneath near my lip), on my chin, and a little on my forehead. It helps to hold my makeup and hide my larger pores. This primer has by far been the best one I have tried. I have been loving Tula products and this was no exception.

#3 FOUNDATION || Wearing the shade “465” when I have no tan and “490” when I have that sun kissed glow. I kind of just put some all over my face and neck and buff it in with this brush. I have tried using beauty blenders, but I do not get the same effect I do if I buff it in with a brush. I also bring the excess to my chest area if I am wearing a lower cut shirt. I find that I do not apply it as evenly with a beauty blender, than I do with a brush. Also, Jamie (@makeupbyjaysaunz) talked about this foundation on her story and then I saw Tricia (@hairby_trici) and she was wearing it, and I knew I needed to try it. It has the best wear and is such an amazing formula.

#5 CONCEALER || I use the shade “Light Beige.” I just started using like two months ago and prefer it over shape tape. I apply my concealer under my eyes, on the sides of my nose, under my nose, on my chin, on the top of my nose, and on my forehead; all in the shape of a triangle. I then damp my beauty blender, with this setting spray and buff/dab the concealer in to blend it into my face.

#6 SETTING POWDER || I use the shade “Translucent” to set my concealer! This has by far been the best one I have tried and used. I apply it with the same beauty blender I applied my concealer with here. I apply it to every place I put the concealer, as well as around my mouth because I get crease lines there. After 5 or so minutes, I wipe it off with a brush. No specific one, but I usually use one like this.

#7 BRONZER & CONTOUR || To apply my contour, I make a fish face and apply the bronzer to my cheek bones to make them look more defined. I then apply it on my forward and jawline. You end up applying it like the number 3. I then do the side of my nose and a small line across the bridge of my nose. I use this brush to apply the bronzer on my face and this brush (the largest one) to apply it to my cheeks bones, forehead, and jawline. I use either this brush set to contour my nose and then use the other brush in it to blend it out. I also sometimes use a foundation stick to just add a bit to the look before doing it with my bronzer, with this in “F11”

#8 BLUSH || Wearing shade “Berry Amore” which is my favorite! I love the baked blushes because they give me the best color. I apply this to the apple of my cheeks and towards my contour. I use the brush all the way to the right in this pack to apply the blush.

# EYES (PALETTE, PRIMER, TAPE) || I use the Huda Beauty or the Carli Bybel palette (which is no longer for sale) on a daily basis. Because I have brown eyes, I have found that pinks, purples, etc work best to really make my eyes pop. So first I use the eye primer. Then I will blend the “COLOR” and “COLOR” into my crease using this brush. Once I have a good base color I like, I then do the outside corners of my eyes with a brown or black eyeshadow to give it a slight smokey eye effect with this brush. Then, I use this brush (and wet it with my setting spray) to get some glitter or pigment onto the lid of my eye. Wetting it prior to using glitter or more pigmented eyeshadows will really glop it on for the brighter effect. Lastly I will put a little but more of the darker brown or black onto the end of my eye lid again and blend it using this brush.

#9 EYELINERS (BOTTOM, TOP) || I use a liquid eyeliner on the top lid and a regular pencil for the bottom lid. My eyes are extremely sensitive, and these are the only two that have not bothered me. To get a winged look, I tend to follow my eyelid up and just hope for the best LOL.

#10 MASCARA (CURLER, PRIMER, MAIN, MAGNETIC LASHES) || First I use the lash curler on both eyes. I then use the primer to really extend my lashes out as much as possible. I usually put it on one eye, top and bottom, and then put it on the other. Once they both have it, I go back to the first eye and put mascara on then do to the other so it gives the primer a chance to dry a little. Then, I use the magnetic lashes, if I want that extra boom, since I can’t apply lashes with glue (I literally just don’t get how people do it! It is so hard LOL), and my eyes are too sensitive to get extensions.

#11 HIGHLIGHTER || I am obsessed with Kylie Cosmetic’s highlighters. I have three of them and literally use them all the time. I use this brush to apply it to the bridge of my nose, the tip of my nose, above my eyebrow, right under my eyebrow, above my top lip, and above my cheekbones.

#12 LIPS (LINER, LIPSTICK, & MOISTURIZER) || Liner is the shade “dusty rose,” the lipstick is “velvet teddy.”

#13 SETTING SPRAY || I spray this all over my face once my makeup is complete. It helps to set it and keep it looking matte.

#14 OTHER ITEMS || (Items I use behind the scenes) Beauty Sponge Cleaner, Waterless Brush & Sponge Cleaner,

Hope this helps! You can also head to my instagram to watch me apply it on IGTV <3

May Ipsy Bag

The May Ipsy bag is here! So excited for this one! I LOVE everything in the bag.

  1. lipp.JPG – (click image for the link) Lord & Berry Lip 2010 Maximatte in “P3405 Intimacy”- This is such a pretty color. Pinks and dark pinks look good on me, so I always put that I prefer this lip color along with nudes. It has a really smooth consistency to it, and I love it.
  2. brio.JPG– (click image for the link) I have been looking for a good leave in conditioner and have actually been looking at this on sephora because of the really good reviews it has. I am so excited to try this and will update you all once I do!
  3. eye.JPG  – (click image for the link) The eye shadow brush is part of this makeup brush set and is only sold separately as part of the Ipsy Bag. But, the brush is so incredibly soft and I love the way the eye shadow on it applies to my eyes. I highly recommend.
  4. sur.JPG – (click image for the link) This mask helps to remove dead skin and large pores. I have seen these face masks all over the place and have been wanting to try them. I got two in my bag so my husband and I will try this out.
  5. Capture.JPG – (click image for the link) I received the sample size of this mascara and cannot believe how volumizing it is! I love the mascara and how voluminous it makes my eyelashes look amazing!

Do you receive Ipsy bags or do you want to? Let me know in the comments below!

XOXO,

Nina

April Ipsy Beauty Bag

  1. Hempz Lip Balm – I love me some lip balm and I was a little hesitant to use this but tried it this morning and really loved it. It wasn’t too thick and wasn’t too balmy. I have a ton of lip balms but will definitely keep this in my work bag to have with me.
  2. Coconut Micellar Cleansing Water – So I had never heard of this until I received it in this Ipsy bag, but it hydrates your face and can actually also remove makeup. I have not tried to, but will when I have my makeup on. I am intrigued by this item and will continue to use it to see how I like it.
  3. Ofra Costmetics Blush – I received this item in “Candy Apple” and I love it! In the swatches on my arm, it is the second swatch. I really wanted to see the consistency and color against my skin. I love it and highly recommend it. I have received a lot of OFRA items in my Ipsy bags and have really grown attached to them.
  4. Realher Lipstick – WOW is all I can say. This lipstick is so creamy and beautiful. I got it in the color “Mauve” and it is the first swatch color on my arm, pictured above. It honestly is so beautiful and I couldn’t get over the creaminess and its moisturizing effects.

There was SUPPOSED to be a brush in my Ipsy bag, but for whatever reason it did not come. I contacted Ipsy and hope to receive what I should have. This has never happened before so I don’t fault them, it could have been left out by accident but will see what their customer service department says. Also, I was upset because I usually receive my bag by the 7th of each month and did not receive it until the 16th this month.

Did you like what you received in your April bag? Do you have Ipsy or are interested in learning more about it? Leave me a comment below!

What’s In My Bag?

One of my top requested posts is a “what’s in your bag” post, so I figured, why not?! I go into detail about what I am carrying and my thoughts on all the items below:

Louis Vuitton Neverfull GM -Damier Ebene & MM Insert– This bag is just amazing. There is no other word to describe it. It fits so much, can be used for everyday or travel, and just so worth it. I always wanted a Louis but could never justify spending the money on it. I would go and look at it in a store or look online constantly but never take the plunge. My husband surprised me with this beauty for Christmas and I use it almost everyday now. I got the insert to put into the bag to keep everything neat and clean. I actually got the insert from the MM because I wanted it a bit smaller than the bag so that I can bring the sides in if I wanted to.

Small Nail Kit – I always keep this in my bag as a just incase. For the longest time, I always had gel extensions or manicures and sometimes they would easily break and I would have a sharp edge. I love carrying this with me just incase I need it.

Impressions Compact Mirror – I LOVE this mirror. I carry and have it with me at all times, even if I am using a smaller purse. I have the tabletop impressions mirror with blue tooth that I use when putting my makeup on, and wanted one to bring around with me. It has a touch screen where you can tap and the light comes on, so if it is night time and you need to check yourself you have light or if you just wanted some more bright light you have it here. I highly recommend this!

Jessica Simpson Sunglasses & MK Case – I had a pair of Michael Kor’s Aviator glasses that came with the beautiful white case (that is very dirty and hard to clean). Those glasses unfortunately broke while I was on my honeymoon in Bali in September, and while shopping for a new pair, I found these Jessica Simpson sunglasses that I am obsessed with. They are so cute and the perfect aviators that won’t make you go broke.

Black Toiletry Case Set & Apple Airpods– I adore this set. I am currently using the mid-size toiletry piece in my purse but was using the smaller one as well until I got the “Good Vibes Only” bag in the mail from ipsy. I use the large bag for my makeup when I travel, the midsize one for lipstick, lipgloss, medicine, etc, and the smallest bag for my electronics. I always carry a charger, and earphones with me wherever I go. The airpods are one of the best things ever invented. I love wireless headphones for the gym and work and never liked any that were on the market. I got these headphones when they first came out and use them everyday! I also always keep some chapstick, hair ties, and clips with me and store them in here.

Victoria’s Secret Travel Perfume – The scent I have in my purse is “Dark Angel” which they no longer carry. I have the “Bombshell Seduction” scent as well and bring it with me when I travel. It is currently on sale for $7.00!

Lipstick and Matte Lip – I always carry a lipstick and matte lip with me at all times. These are my two favorites and go-tos! The Mac “Velvet Teddy” meshes well with almost any outfit or any plans you may have. I have talked about the tarteist matte lips in my post herebut the “Rose Nude” is one of my staple lips that I carry with me.

Kate Spade Card Case – I forgot to include this in my main picture, but I also carry around my business card case. I never know when I will run into someone for potential business so I always have mine with me. I got this case in gold but they no longer have the gold available. It is super cute though and I always get compliments on it.

Ted Baker Pen & Case – I always like to carry pens and stuff with me but they always end up exploding all over my bag. My mother in law got me this and I love it. I think it is such a cute idea and love that I can store them away without bulkiness. I also like to carry around a little notebook and found this cute envelope one a while back at TJ Maxx.

Misc – Kleenex are a must for me and I always have a small pack with me. I usually buy them from the dollar store! If you cannot find them let me know and I will link them in. I also have a card case that I keep in my bag (the striped case) which holds all of my gift cards and coupons that receive in the mail. That way, if I am ever out and stop somewhere I have everything with me. And of course, I always have my wallet with me (not pictured but I linked the one I use) I left my wallet in my car so it didn’t make the picture.

What do you have in your purse? Would you use some of these items? Let me know in the comments below 🙂
