Balayage & Hair Extensions

Hi Babes!

My hair is finally done and I am so excited!! I have not done anything to my hair in almost 6 years and knew I needed to do something different, so balayage was my first step. In this post I am going to talk a little about the process of both dying my hair and getting the extensions so I apologize in advance for the long post!

Before I get into it, I just have to tell you guys about this amazing salon I went to. Hairology was amazing and truly exceeded my expectations. The set up and decor is so pretty and I love that about them. I truly believe that wherever you go, the look of the place directly reflects their service. If it is nicely kept and pretty, you know you will get good service, which is exactly what I got here. Everyone is so nice and they are all willing to help each other. I highly recommend them!

Balayage

Like I mentioned above, I have not done anything with my hair in 6 years and have dark brown hair. I knew the process wouldn’t be easy and would probably not turn out the way I wanted it to, but I was so wrong. Amy from Hairology looked at the pictures I showed her and listened to what I was looking for and provided that and much more! I showed her the three pictures below and a few more and told her I wanted my hair to look like that, I wanted blonde but not full blonde.

My inspiration pictures really helped to show Amy exactly what I was looking for. Since my hair was so dark, the entire process took about 2.5 hours. I sat under the heat for about 35 minutes and sat without heat for about 25.

Once the color we were looking for started to lift, Amy and her fellow employees washed out my hair and put in a toner to get the blonde I wanted. I do have to mention, if you plan on getting extensions all while dying your hair, make sure they try to match a color. Amy is familiar with the extension colors and knew the color I was looking for so matching for me wouldn’t be a problem. When Amy first washed my hair and took it out of the towel, I thought it wasn’t light enough, but you truly cannot tell until your hair is dry. When she dried it, I was in love!

The color came out perfect and I honestly could not wait! The next step was ordering the extensions. I knew I wanted them for length, so I got the 18-20 inch extension in the color 5/23 which is an ombre color. It usually takes about 2 days to come in if they are in stock, so I made my appointment and left.

Extensions

Waiting the three days to come get my extensions done, felt like a lifetime. I was so excited that I just wanted it to happen asap. The day finally came, and I could hardly wait. They instructed me to wash my hair that morning and to straighten it. When the hair is straight, it is easier to get the Tape in Extensions put in. I will tell you later in the post why I chose the Tape Ins over all the other ones they have, but wanted to let you know a little bit about the process first.

When I got there, they started the process right away. Amy sectioned off my hair and started putting them in. I couldn’t believe how easy it was. It was like taping items together except obviously the tape is a stronger adhesive. I was done within 20 minutes and then we curled my hair. The process was so quick and easy and Amy made sure to answer all my questions and give me some details.

I was not allowed to wash my hair for 24-48 hours. When I brush my hair, I can brush by the tape but I have to make sure not to push and brush through the tape. The upkeep for them is every 10-12 weeks where I would go back and have them lifted. The hair lasts for 3 uses so basically for a total of 9 months. I love them and can’t wait to style my hair now!

Other Extensions & My Thoughts on Tape Ins

I have had various different types of extensions including clip ins, Braidless beaded sew ins, and fusion extensions. After a few hours I was sick of them for various reasons. With the braidless beaded sew in extensions, I constantly had headaches because it was so heavy on my head. It was also impossible to comb these extensions and I hated having them. The fusion extensions weren’t as bad, but they only lasted 4-6 weeks and pulled on certain areas of my head which made it hurt. Lastly, the clip ins are always a good option, but I wanted something a little more permanent because after a few hours the clips would hurt my head.

Honestly, seeing what works best for you is the best piece of advice I can give. Most people like the fusion, but now that I have had the tape extensions I will not go back. It literally feels like nothing is in my hair and it feels so natural which is what I was looking for. I highly recommend them!

Good morning babes! I hope you all have a wonderful Thursday! I am all about comfortable style as the weather starts to cool down, so I was really excited about this hoodie dress! I’ve ordered a few things from fashion nova now and am loving their stuff.

I love versatile items that can be worn casually or dressy, and this hoodie Dress is the perfect item! Today I’ll pair it with three different types of shoes so that you can see that this dress can be worn casually and dressy, and see which way you would prefer to wear it. This also comes in 2-3 other colors and is perfect as the weather continues to get cooler.

This hoodie dress is a bit big, but that is the look I was going for. I was looking for something I can lounge in if I wanted to and that I could feel comfortable in. I got a size medium but the small would have been fine. I also linked some cheaper versions of my Stuart Weitzman OTK boots.

Happy Friday babes!!

With fall festivities in full swing, I wanted to share one of my favorite fall outfits and one that I will frequent a bunch! These jeans are so incredibly comfortable and are TTS (I am wearing a size 4 for reference). They are from Charlotte Russe and are currently sold out but I have linked them incase they come back in stock. I have also linked two other pairs that I love.

This sweater has been my favorite since last season. They are selling out fast with the few Vestique still has left so I have also linked some similar ones incase they do. I am huge on hats for any season so this cute brown one is no different. It compliments this outfit perfectly. These shoes are quickly becoming my favorite. I got them from Nordstrom Rack but it seems like they only sell them in store 🙁 so I have linked a few of my other favorite strappy booties for you guys!

The Perfect Duster for Any Occassion

Happy Wednesday babes! I love clothing pieces that can be work for multiple occasions and that’s exactly what this gorgeous duster is. It can easily be work with leggings, a dress, jeans, anything! Today I wanted to show you how I would style it with jeans & a dress.

Jeans Pairing

These jeans are TTS (for reference I am wearing a size 27 [4]) and fit so comfortable. They aren’t the stiff jeans that you feel you can’t move around in. I also love this criss cross tank because it adds a little style to a plain tank. For size referencing for all items, I am wearing a Small in the duster, size 4 (27) jeans, size 9 booties, and medium tank. When ordering from SheIn, I tend to size up one or two sizes depending on the reviews!

Dress Pairing

I also paired the duster with this gorgeous ruffled dress from SheIn. I got this dress in a size medium but I do just want to mention that I found it to be a bit short. I am 5’8″ so typically items are a bit short on me. Regardless of that though, I absolutely love this body con dress and think that it’s so cute for a night out. The heels I am wearing are Stuart Weitzman, but I shared a few similar ones.

Stuart Weitzman Shoe Sale

Happy Thursday Babes!

I have an obsession with Stuart Weitzman shoes and constantly post about them. I know they are a bit expensive, but I have gathered up a few of my favorites that are currently on sale and most are 50% OFF! It is rare that they offer 50% off deals so I wanted to make sure I shared a few that I have and a few that I saw and loved!

The sale usually doesn’t last very long, so make sure to grab them while you can, if you are interested! I have had most of these for a while now. Their shoes last very long, are sturdy and can be worn with any type of outfit.

I wear my nudists to work almost everyday. I also have the sandals that I linked below but packed them away until next spring/summer & just ordered the booties that I linked 🙂 If you have any questions at all, do not hesitate to ask. Fall Staple Pieces

Hi babes!

With every change of major seasons like Spring and Fall, I always change out my closet and purchase some fall or spring staples to help the transition into the season change. Today I am sharing my staples with you!

Booties are always a staple in my closet for the fall. I wear them with not only jeans, but also dresses, leggings, etc. I love pairing them with dresses! The Kristin Cavallari pair are my absolute favorites and I just ordered them. I love the scrunch by the open toe. I also love slip on sneakers and tend to where them with jeans or leggings but also casual dresses paired with a jean jacket. I love hobo bags and hand held/shoulder bags in grey, beige, or caramel for the changing season. They go perfectly with any outfit and really add character.

Leather leggings are a must for me. I love them with sweaters, tunics, or even crop tops for a night out. Recently, I have been loving the camo trend and had to add a pair into my wardrobe. I purchased these for myself because I love the way they fit! Casual t-shirts & leather jackets are other fall staples for me. I pair casual t-shirts with casual outfits and sometimes even wear them to work under a cardigan or blazer with a pair of slacks. Leather jackets can be casual or dressy as well and are perfect as the weather begins to chill a bit.

Lastly, I love nude lipstick and this MAC lip color “Half-N’Half” is perfect nude. I also love monogram lettered jewelry and have added this letter necklace to my collection. I will be pairing it with outfits so that you can see how it sits in the coming week.
