Makeup Monday – 5 Makeup Favorites – 10/28/19

Happy Makeup Monday!!

Today I decided to share some of my favorites that I use every time I do my makeup. I am not a pro, but this is what I use. I will do a makeup video one week for a makeup monday since I get so many requests for it.

#1 | ELF Hydrating Lotion

Ok so this is actually a travel set that I bought for Greece and I have been using all the products but the hydrating lotion EVERY time I do my makeup. It hydrates my skin so much. I put the lotion on prior to primer or anything else. I have VERY dry skin so this definitely gives me a lot of hydration.

#2L’oreal Foundation

First off, this foundation is $14. That is amazing for foundation because usually the good ones are very expensive. I use the color 465 (Sand) in the fall and winter, and use 490 (Golden Amber) during the summer when I get a lot of color. If I get some color in between I mix the two together for the perfect color. This has the BEST wear. It lasts all day and doesn’t crack and is so smooth. I switched to this earlier this year and LOVE it.

#3 | ELF Concealer

When they say 16 hour wear, they mean it!! The wear on this is fantastic especially over the foundation above. I wear the shade “Light Sand.” It does not crease and goes on so smoothly. It is also only $6 and compared to the shape tape that is $27, it is much better!

#4 | Charlotte Tilbury Setting Powder

I changed out my banana loose powder for this and I am SO happy I did. It is amazing and really makes my under eyes shine and really smooth. It is $45 which is a little expensive but I purchased this in June and you can see in my story I have s much left so it lasts and is worth the $$. I like this so much better than the loose powder I used to use it is really flawless.

#5Charlotte Tilbury Blush

I have the shade “Pillow Talk” and it is such a pretty color. It is also expensive at $40 but one of the best blushes I have tried yet! Honestly Charlotte Tilbury is so worth the money in my opinion.

Current Makeup Routine

My current makeup routine, step by step

Whenever I post on my stories with some makeup on, I get a bunch of DM’s asking if I can do a makeup tutorial. Let me start off by saying I am NOT a professional LOL. I probably don’t do certain things correctly, but this works for me 🙂 I uploaded an IGTV video showcasing each step here.

#1 LOTION (ELF) || I put lotion all over my face before I put my primer on or anything else. My face tends to get really dry in every season, so if I do not put lotion on, my nose and cheeks will dry up and peel under my makeup && we don’t want that. It’s extremely weird lol. I have tried various hydrating lotions and have used the ELF one for almost a year now. Not only is it super affordable, but it does the job.

#2 FACE PRIMER PRIMER || I pat/rub this onto under my eyes and by my nose (underneath near my lip), on my chin, and a little on my forehead. It helps to hold my makeup and hide my larger pores. This primer has by far been the best one I have tried. I have been loving Tula products and this was no exception.

#3 FOUNDATION || Wearing the shade “465” when I have no tan and “490” when I have that sun kissed glow. I kind of just put some all over my face and neck and buff it in with this brush. I have tried using beauty blenders, but I do not get the same effect I do if I buff it in with a brush. I also bring the excess to my chest area if I am wearing a lower cut shirt. I find that I do not apply it as evenly with a beauty blender, than I do with a brush. Also, Jamie (@makeupbyjaysaunz) talked about this foundation on her story and then I saw Tricia (@hairby_trici) and she was wearing it, and I knew I needed to try it. It has the best wear and is such an amazing formula.

#5 CONCEALER || I use the shade “Light Beige.” I just started using like two months ago and prefer it over shape tape. I apply my concealer under my eyes, on the sides of my nose, under my nose, on my chin, on the top of my nose, and on my forehead; all in the shape of a triangle. I then damp my beauty blender, with this setting spray and buff/dab the concealer in to blend it into my face.

#6 SETTING POWDER || I use the shade “Translucent” to set my concealer! This has by far been the best one I have tried and used. I apply it with the same beauty blender I applied my concealer with here. I apply it to every place I put the concealer, as well as around my mouth because I get crease lines there. After 5 or so minutes, I wipe it off with a brush. No specific one, but I usually use one like this.

#7 BRONZER & CONTOUR || To apply my contour, I make a fish face and apply the bronzer to my cheek bones to make them look more defined. I then apply it on my forward and jawline. You end up applying it like the number 3. I then do the side of my nose and a small line across the bridge of my nose. I use this brush to apply the bronzer on my face and this brush (the largest one) to apply it to my cheeks bones, forehead, and jawline. I use either this brush set to contour my nose and then use the other brush in it to blend it out. I also sometimes use a foundation stick to just add a bit to the look before doing it with my bronzer, with this in “F11”

#8 BLUSH || Wearing shade “Berry Amore” which is my favorite! I love the baked blushes because they give me the best color. I apply this to the apple of my cheeks and towards my contour. I use the brush all the way to the right in this pack to apply the blush.

# EYES (PALETTE, PRIMER, TAPE) || I use the Huda Beauty or the Carli Bybel palette (which is no longer for sale) on a daily basis. Because I have brown eyes, I have found that pinks, purples, etc work best to really make my eyes pop. So first I use the eye primer. Then I will blend the “COLOR” and “COLOR” into my crease using this brush. Once I have a good base color I like, I then do the outside corners of my eyes with a brown or black eyeshadow to give it a slight smokey eye effect with this brush. Then, I use this brush (and wet it with my setting spray) to get some glitter or pigment onto the lid of my eye. Wetting it prior to using glitter or more pigmented eyeshadows will really glop it on for the brighter effect. Lastly I will put a little but more of the darker brown or black onto the end of my eye lid again and blend it using this brush.

#9 EYELINERS (BOTTOM, TOP) || I use a liquid eyeliner on the top lid and a regular pencil for the bottom lid. My eyes are extremely sensitive, and these are the only two that have not bothered me. To get a winged look, I tend to follow my eyelid up and just hope for the best LOL.

#10 MASCARA (CURLER, PRIMER, MAIN, MAGNETIC LASHES) || First I use the lash curler on both eyes. I then use the primer to really extend my lashes out as much as possible. I usually put it on one eye, top and bottom, and then put it on the other. Once they both have it, I go back to the first eye and put mascara on then do to the other so it gives the primer a chance to dry a little. Then, I use the magnetic lashes, if I want that extra boom, since I can’t apply lashes with glue (I literally just don’t get how people do it! It is so hard LOL), and my eyes are too sensitive to get extensions.

#11 HIGHLIGHTER || I am obsessed with Kylie Cosmetic’s highlighters. I have three of them and literally use them all the time. I use this brush to apply it to the bridge of my nose, the tip of my nose, above my eyebrow, right under my eyebrow, above my top lip, and above my cheekbones.

#12 LIPS (LINER, LIPSTICK, & MOISTURIZER) || Liner is the shade “dusty rose,” the lipstick is “velvet teddy.”

#13 SETTING SPRAY || I spray this all over my face once my makeup is complete. It helps to set it and keep it looking matte.

#14 OTHER ITEMS || (Items I use behind the scenes) Beauty Sponge Cleaner, Waterless Brush & Sponge Cleaner,

Hope this helps! You can also head to my instagram to watch me apply it on IGTV <3

I have loved Eyes, Lips, Face since I first started getting into make-up. I have seen over the years, that their products get better and better. I decided to purchase a few things and do a haul/review on the items I purchased. I also got this really awesome makeup bag and makeup remover pad that I will discuss below:

  1. Hydrating Face Primer & Moisturizer – My face gets super dry in the winter, so I have been loving these hydrating products. Everyday when I get out of the shower and before bed I use this lotion on my face. I have tried so many different face lotions and have not found one this good that keeps my face hydrated for hours! This primer I have been using before I put my makeup on and I have notices how my face does not dry up when I put my foundation on. I love them both.
  2. Hydrating Booster Drops – I squirt a drop of this into my foundation and mix it in, keep my face even more hydrated and my foundation looking flawless.
  3. Soothing Mist – I take this with me and keep it in my bag. I love to spray some on during the day to keep my makeup fresh!
  4. The Matte Lipsticks – They don’t get too dry and I actually love them! Sometimes with Matte lipsticks they can get extremely dry and make your lips look chapped, but they stayed nice the entire night. I purchased the lip liners because I thought they would pair well with the matte lipsticks and they really do.
  5. Hydrogel Under Eye Masks – I am so happy that E.L.F came out with these. I use to purchase them online. I love to bring these with me when I travel. Being on the flight and traveling can make me look extremely tired and these give me the pick me up I need and help with the bags under my eyes.
  6. Contouring Brush – I use this to enhance my contour on my check bones and forehead, it really helps to buff and define the contour.
  7. Small Contour Brush – This is perfect for contouring your nose
  8. Pointed Powder Brush– I use this for when I set the powder under my eye, I usually use a sponge to put it on and this to brush it off. It really helps to brush it off and not push the product in
  9. Crease Brush – This brush is used every time I do my make up, I have many of them! I use this to help define the product in my crease.
  10. Travel Blending Brush – Sometimes when I travel I fall asleep on the plane and wake up looking like a hot mess. I bring this little travel brush and a small eye shadow palette for touch ups and love it. It is small so it can fit in a small zippered area of any bag.
  11. Active Line Items – I talk about them in my blog post Here
  12. Face Halo – This little thing is amazing! I was pleasantly surprised. I have used those towels that were all over the internet to remove makeup but found it too rough on my skin, and it wasn’t truly removing my makeup. I can’t recommend this enough!
  13. Feather Cosmetic Bag – My sister got this bag in black off of some random website on Instagram, and I loved it. I went to purchase it, but they no longer sold it. I found it on amazon and I’m obsessed! I hate leaving a mess of my makeup, and sometimes when traveling or at home, I’m in a rush so this makes life so easy to easily clean up my makeup products and put them away. I love it!

Do you have any of these products? Have you tried these products? Let me know if you have any questions!
